HOW TO CREATE TRUST BETWEEN STAKEHOLDERS FOR AND WITH A CULTURE YOU DON'T KNOW?

INTRODUCTION

This concept came alive in collaboration with chinese students during the Philips design & innovation workshop in Shanghai. We had 5 days and some allnighters we finished a concept I'm proud of. Considering communicating with chinese students can be difficult.

Our assignment was to create more trust between pregnant women and doctors in China.

RESEARCH

We had one day to find out as much as we could about the chinese culture and our target group: pregnant women.

So we went to two chinese hospitals and interviewed pregnant women and their families.

Findings

CONCEPT

WHY

To make the pregnancy a more pleasant experience for husband and wife.

HOW

By helping pregnant women learn how to take care of their baby and connect with their husband.

WHAT

I created a product that gives husband and wife insight about their babys' health and teaches them how to be healthy.

DESIGN

EGG

The egg helps women feel more connected to their baby. It is a lamp as well as an information giver.

A lamp to show you by color how healthy your baby is. It gives information by showing your baby and real time information.

BRACELET

The bracelet for the woman also shows color and heat when the baby is healthy or cold when it the mother is drinking alcohol for example.

It has a function that you can scan food or activities to know if this is good for the baby in this stage of the pregnancy.

The husband is more involved because he is up to date about the pregnancy. He can help his wife being healthy.

His bracelet vibrates when the woman feels her baby kick, he can then support his wife by sending her a voice message.

ANIMATION

To make sure the concept was clear with our client Philips we created a video which explains it all. Please note that all the visuals for this project were created in less than 8 hours, including the video.
